wynndebagge"When it comes to  entertainers of people, wynndebagge is the best I've seen.  The atmosphere he creates is demotic ... entertainment of the people by the people"  John Sessions

wynndebagge has been at the forefront of bringing medieval, Renaissance and European dance music to a wider audience whilst making them laugh for over 15 years. With ancestral roots amongst the Russian steppes and French Huguenots and links to branches in British television comedy, film, the RSC and Music Hall, his influences are culturally diverse yet his style very English.

Striding fearlessly with his bagpipes, gurdy, gittern and yak horn into the minefield of audience participation, wynndebagge offers a unique mix of physical and verbal comedy, fabulously unusual instruments, colourful costume with music that has been described as “antedeluvian”, “spellbinding”, “right on the money” and a show as “side-splitting”, “pure genius”, “joyous”, “musical slapstick”, “a master-class in ad-lib, comic timing and crowd control”.

Renowned for his ability to entertain both adults and children alike, wynndebagge likes nothing better than a lively audience who are prepared to be as much a part of the show as he is.  So it's no surprise that he has appeared on such diverse shows as Blue Peter, CBeebies, Radio 4's Let Me Entertain You ,BBC 1's Garden SOS, The History Channel, European Klassik Rock and has recorded with a rich variety of artists from Early Music through to folk-rock.

As a musician, stand-up comedian, raconteur, dancing master, Master of Ceremonies & all-round entertainer,  wynndebagge performs in almost any situation ~ medieval to modern, from stages to streets and schools, forests to festivals, parks to palaces, comedy clubs to concert halls.  All styles of celebrations are catered for; family, community, seasonal and social; themed musical stand-up comedy, dance and diverse delights; medieval, Elizabethan & period weddings, banquets, fayres, corporate events and after-dinner entertainment; with music on hurdy-gurdy, English bagpipes, gittern (medieval lute), hammer dulcimer, crumhorn & more.  As well as his one-man show, wynndebagge also leads The Baggettes and The New St George Waits, medieval and Elizabethan dance bands that are perfect for getting an audience on its feet.

Winter Sostice was written by Dave Faulkner, English piper with The Eel Grinders.
